Normalise Kindness

👉 Normalise kindness to others. You don’t need to go to war each time you go to work. You don’t need to crush competition, beat your peers, exterminate everyone around you to achieve success. The world has enough Alexanders and Genghis Khans. It needs more Nelson Mandelas. Warlords were winners in a world of scarcity. When you had to take something by force, because for you to have something, someone else had to lose that thing.

In a world of abundance, in a world where most ailments are diseases of excess, the winners are people who can uplift.

The winners are those who care less about their own winning, and care more about helping others win. Who win because they can make others win.

👉 And most importantly, normalise kindness to your self.

You are trying your best. You already have too many voices around you that are trying to put you down; let the one in your head be a cheerleader.

It’s ok to screw up once in a while; that’s how you will collect lessons that stick. It’s ok to make mistakes; acknowledging them and growing from them is a sign of maturity and wisdom. It’s ok to not be ok; you’ll be better tomorrow.

Dust yourself up and try again. Less self-flagellation, more self-congratulation. High-five yourself mentally when you have your next small win.

⚡️ Normalise kindness. To yourself and to others around you.
